About Us
The Huntington Camera Club was founded in 1966 to provide beginning and advanced photographers an opportunity to learn to improve their skills... meet with others interested in photography ... and provide a forum for showing their photographs. Membership is open to everyone with an interest in photography regardless of their skill level. The Club offers instructional programming, entertaining multi-media presentations, judged competitions, field trips and other events including special dinners and a family picnic. A monthly newsletter lists the activities, and includes the competition results and informative articles. Annual dues are $60 a year for single memberships, $20 for students through high school, $45 for seniors age 62 and over, and $90 for family memberships. About 30 meetings are held each year. The Club maintains an active profile in the community. Through dues, the generosity of individuals and various grants and awards, it has cataloged Huntington's historical homes, produced a multi-media show on "A Week in the Life of Huntington," and conducts an annual photo competition for high school students.
All meetings start at 7:30PM(unless otherwise noted) in the Auditorium on the lower level of the Huntington Public Library, 338 Main Street, Huntington Village. On competition nights entries must be received no later than 15 minutes prior to the announced start of the meeting to be eligible for judging. The public is invited to attend all meetings but only paid members can participate in competitions and special events. For more information call: (631)262-0951.
