    Wonderful detail in this eagle portrait. Brightening the eye, removing the white area at the tip of the beak and if possible open the shadows under the wing. A winner for sure!

    Thanks for your comments "guest". I struggled with what I should do with that white area at the tip of the beak. At full resolution you can see it is something either growing on or in the beak and not just a white blown out area but obviously a distraction since you also picked up on it. As for the shadow area under the left wing, I admit to not having a ton of recoverable detail since I had to be careful to watch the highlights on the head when I shot this which could not be lost in order for this image to work for me. I brought out about as much as I could without resorting to some cloning which I typically like to avoid in wildlife photos.
