A Great Place For Photographers for Over 55 Years!

The Huntington Camera Club (HCC) was founded in 1966 to provide beginning and advanced photographers an opportunity to improve their photographic skills, meet like-minded people - who are also interested in photography, and provide a fun, supportive forum for the sharing of their photographs. Membership is open to everyone with an interest in photography, regardless of their skill level. The Club offers instructional programming, entertaining multi-media presentations, judged competitions, field trips, guest lectures by well-known photographic artists, and other events including special dinners and a family picnic.

The Club maintains an active profile in the community. Through dues, the generosity of individuals and various grants and awards, it has cataloged Huntington's historical homes, produced a multi-media show on "A Week in the Life of Huntington," taught photography to children at the Sunrise Day Camp, photographed shows and concerts for the Huntington Art Council’s Summer Series at Heckscher Park, conducts an annual photo competition for high school students, and provides a generous scholarship to a high school student interested in pursuing photography at the college level.

The HCC meets every Tuesday night at 7:30 PM(September - June)in the Auditorium on the lower level of the Huntington Public Library, 338 Main Street, Huntington Village. However, during the Coronavirus pandemic, there are select meetings where we meet virtually using Zoom at 7:30 PM. Please check the calendar below for the meeting schedule. The public is invited to attend some of our meetings, but only paid members can participate in competitions, Zoom only special meetings & special events. If you are interested in attending any of our Zoom meetings and possibly joining our club, please email hcczoomadmin@hccny.org for more information, and a meeting link.

Annual dues are $75 a year for individual memberships, $20 for students, $60 for seniors age 62 and over, and $120 for family memberships. Over 35 meetings during the months of September through June are held each year.

Please browse this website for more information.

The club has a regular scheduled field trip EVERY Sunday. This includes summer and winter breaks. We call ourselves the “Sunday Shooters”. Our meeting place is the Dix Hills Diner, 1800 E. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington NY near intersection with E. Deer Park Rd. We order breakfast at 7:30am. We have great conversations, discuss photography, and select places to go over breakfast. We meet rain or shine and throughout the year and sometimes find interesting places to go to. Often there are both local and longer trips to choose from so that you can be home early to spend lunch with the family or make it a longer day with a trip to the city. We frequently caravan and pile into one or two cars to share the expense of gas. Please feel free to join us. If you are an early bird, don't worry, many of us arrive before 7am to get into pre-breakfast discussions.

Due to COVID we temporarily are meeting on ZOOM. Please contact Marc Alter for Zoom information. Email: mfalter@optonline.net
